Lac-dye (engl., spr. läck dei) oder Färbelack, aus dem Stock- oder Körnerlack ausgezogener Farbstoff, der an Feigenbäumen in Ostindien durch Stiche der Gummilackschildlaus erzeugt wird, ist das Kalziumsalz der Lakkainsäure, färbt Wolle bes. auf Zinnbeize rot; der mit Alaun gefällte Farbstoff wird als Lac-lake oder Lack-Lack bezeichnet.
